Lenovo think pad X1 launched -Lenovo X1 think pad

"ThinkPad X1 is a premium notebook, which ranges from Rs 90,000 onwards and is the world's slimmest thinkpad measuring less than 17 mm. The product will be available at retail outlets. However, our focus is enterprise customers as it a premium product," Lenovo India Managing Director Amar Babu told media in Mumbai.

    

It also has scratch proof and spill proof designs with 10 hours battery power.

    

"We have rapid recharge feature that recharges 80 per cent battery in just 30 minutes," he said.

    

The company aims to become number one vendor in the country and to achieve this it has to grow faster than the market, which grew at slightly more than 20 per cent in FY10, he said.

   

"We achieved a growth rate of close to 60 per cent in FY10, which was three times more than the market growth. We aim to maintain and sustain this growth," he added.

    

Lenovo is planning to enhance its products range in the country and will launch tablet computer in India in next few months, he said.

Fujairah

Fujairah, occupying an area equal to 1.5 per cent of the country's total landmass, and with a breathtaking coastline of more than 90km, is the only emirate situated entirely along the Gulf of Oman.

This emirate is a place of considerable natural beauty where jagged mountains and valleys sweep down to the settled palm-fringed coastal plain. There are some stunning beaches and good diving locations along the coast, whilst the hinterland features many cultural and historic sites. Agriculture and fishing, two traditional mainstays of the economy, still feature prominently.

Fujairah City, the capital, is not just an attractive town in a stunning setting it is also is a rapidly developing commercial and tourist centre. Its strategic location, which provides easy access to international shipping routes, has played a key role in its development as one of the world’s top oil-bunkering ports. The main business area is along Hamad bin Abdullah Rd, between the Fujairah Trade Centre and the coast.

Fujairah Fort

This reputedly 360-year-old fort lies on a hill at the edge of the date gardens, surrounded by the remains of the old town houses. The fort was severely damaged in the early twentieth century by a British bombardment but has been recently restored.

Fujairah Heritage Village

Near Fujairah Fort, this heritage village has a good selection of traditional houses (‘arish) and fishing boats (shasha) made from palm fronds, providing an interesting backdrop to its living reconstruction of traditional life on the East Coast.

Fujairah Museum (09 2229085)

Situated just south of the fort and opposite the Ruler’s Palace, Fujairah Museum is a small modern building where many of the artifacts found in archaeological digs at Qidfa, Bithnah and other places are on display.

Ain Al Madhab Gardens

Ain al Madhab Gardens, also called the National Park, is a mineral spa with chalet accommodation on the western edge of the town. It is an extensive park with playground and a heritage village around the ruins of an old fort where traditional costumes, pottery and utensils are on display.

On weekends in winter, watch out for the famous Fujairah bullfights – a bloodless sport in which two bulls test their strength against one another.

The Floating Hotel-Manned Cloud

TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD ON A FLOATING HOTEL might be possible by 2020.

French designer, Jean-Marie Massaud, has been working in conjunction with the French National Office of Airship Research on the project since 2005.
The airship is a floating hotel called the Manned Cloud.


It will cruise at a speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) and 18,000ft above sea level. It could circle the earth in about ten days.

It will travel for 3,100 miles (almost 5,000 km) before needing to be refueled.
It is an ecologically friendly way to travel, leaving little impact on the environment without the need for hotels, according to the promoters. It could land for a few days or for a week if there is a big event going on.



The Manned Cloud is almost 700ft long, 270ft wide and 170ft deep. It has a restaurant, a library, a lounge and a gym on the first deck. On the second level there will be 20 passenger rooms, terraces with panoramic windows, a spa and a bar room.


The airship is powered by a giant rear propeller and also has two further engines pointing downwards for vertical take-off.
