IPL(Indian Premier League) - 38th twenty-twenty day-night match between Mumbai indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Wankhede Stadium Mumbai on the night of 16 May 2008.

Mumbai team won the toss and choose field then the bowlers work well and all out the kolkata knight rider team very quicjkly. And also in second inning they played well and complete the target in 5.5 overs only.

Well, friends... If Twenty20s are meant to be short and sweet, this was certainly an ultra-short affair. Mumbai did nothing wrong today and it started off well for sure. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put the opponents to bat, his bowlers were bang on target and the pitch helped them really well. Shaun Pollock delivered the deadly punches and Kolkata just couldn't recover as they were left floored on the mat. It was just a formality for the Mumbai batsmen to knock off the required few, Sanath Jayasuriya continued from where he had left that memorable evening. The Mumbai fans would be delighted and the Kolkata supporters would walk back with gloomy faces. Certainly, this is a huge setback to the Knightriders' side and they will have to bounce back hard to stay in contention for the Semi spot. Hope you have enjoyed the game. Do join us tomorrow for yet another clash.

Match Result : Mumbai indians won by 8 wickets
Man of the match : Sanath jayasuriya

IPL(Indian Premier League) - 35th twenty-twenty day-night match between Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Delhi Daredevils Played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on the night of 13 May 2008.

This is a crucial match for both teams in their quest to make the Top 4 slots. Kolkata is equal on points with Delhi, but the former is ahead on Net Run Rate. Comeback King Saurav Ganguly has struck form and will be eager to lenghten their mini winning streak of two matches. The Delhi top order batsmen are in good form, but the middle-order of Karthik, de Villiers and Shoaib Malik need to find their touch quickly.

Both teams will go into the battle at the Eden Gardens with different feelings. While Sourav Ganguly's team have won their last two matches to take their tally to eight points from eight matches, Virender Sehwag's Delhi have suffered close defeats in their last three matches to remain at eight.

With amazing performance in bowling kolkata team restricts delhi dare devil to 110 runs only and won by 23 runs. Really Pakistani fast bowler Shoib Akhtar played an important role in this match so hi awarded as a man of the match.

IPL(Indian Premier League) - 32th twenty-twenty day-night match between Deccan Chargers Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Played at Rajiv Gandhi Int Stadium Hyderabad at 11 May 2008.

Here the match for both the same level team. we can't say what will be happen in this match. Both team are out of form as they don't expected. Deccan charger team have a good batsman, bowler and also inform all rounder but the amazing thing is that it hasn't proved his performance like other team. So this match is so important to Hyderabad Deccan chargers team also as Kolkata knight rider team.

The badly-bruised Hyderabad team which has won only two of the eight matches it has played so far are sharing the bottom spot with Bangalore Royal Challengers on four points and would have to post a few victories to remain in contention for a semi-final berth.

Moreover, the VVS Laxman-led side will have to overcome the jinx of losing at home having failed to post a single win from three matches so far at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium with its two wins coming away from home - in Mumbai and Chennai.

Sourav ganguly captain of kokata knight rider team won the match and elected to bat first. And then Sourav ganguly really played well and scored 91 runs in 57 balls with (11 fours, 5 sixes) it's an amazing innnig from ganguly really nobody expected such innning from kolkatta knight rider team captain. After overall they lead to 204 runs. It's really hard target to chase.

In second inning Venugopal Rao played well but it's a big score to chase and once again deccan charger note down their defeat and also come out of this IPL series.

Result: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 23 runs
Man of the Match: Saurav Ganguly

Kolkata IPL team crushed Bangalore Royal Challengers (test team) in a one sided twenty20 match at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore. Kolkata defeated Bangalore by a big margin of 140 runs. Batting first, Kolkata IPL scored 222/3 in 20 overs thanks to magnificent 158 not out by Brendon McCullum. But Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly failed to entertain the crowds. In response, Bangalore IPL was all out for 82 runs in 15.1 overs. Bangalore people may find it difficult to digest their team’s lack of fighting spirit. Except all-rounder Praveen kumar, not even a single Bangalore batsman has shown minimum fighting spirit and application in facing Kolkata Knight Riders. Shahrukh Khan is the happiest man on earth after seeing the wonderful all-round performance by his team. Kolkata IPL outclassed Bangalore IPL in batting, bowling and fielding.

Bangalore challengers started their innings in horrible way by losing 4 wickets for 24 runs in 6 overs. Test stars like Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Wasim Jaffer failed miserably along with Indian under-19 captain Virat Kohli. India young sensation, Ishant Sharma terrorised Dravid, Kallis and Jaffer in his initial overs. Even experienced hard hitter Mark Boucher fell cheaply to Kolkata captain Sourav Ganguly.

IPL started in a spectacular fashion at Chinnaswamy stadium which was well attended by famous cricket dignitaries. Music show by Shankar Mahadevan and Laser show enthralled the Bangalore crowds. But McCullum innings overshadowed all these things.

IPL Match analysis:

Toss: Bangalore Royal Challengers won the toss and elected to field.

Highlights of the match:

1. Brendon McCullum gave sensational start to this prestigious tournament by hitting 18 runs in the Zaheer Khan’s over. He hit 10 fours and 13 sixers in his memorable innings.

2. Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid clearly struggled in their brief stay at crease and these icons are big burden for their franchisees (That’s why Dhoni doesn’t like these seniors).

3. Bangalore cricket lovers may find it difficult to forget wonderful century by Brendon McCullum.

4. Praveen Kumar is the only Bangalore batsman to reach double digits in their innings. He is the only bangalore bowler who troubled Kolkata batsmen in his first spell.

IPL Records:

1. This twenty20 match will be remembered forever as the first game of Indian premier League Cricket tournament.

2. Brendon McCullum scored first century of IPL cricket tournament.

3. McCullum’s 158 is highest ever score in the twenty20 cricket history.

4. McCullum hit highest number of sixers (13 sixers) in a single 20-20 innings.

5. Cameroon White gave 24 runs in a single over. IPL record.

IPL Scores:

Kolkata Knight Riders: 222/3 in 20 overs.
Bangalore Royal Challengers: 82 all out in 15.1 overs.

IPL Teams:

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Sourav Ganguly (Captain), Brendon McCullum (Wicket keeper), Ricky Ponting, Mohammad Hafeez, David Hussey, Debabrata Das, W. Saha, Ajit Agarkar, Ishant Sharma, Murali Karthik and Laxmi Ratan Shukla.

Bangalore Royal Challengers:

Rahul Dravid (Captain), Mark Boucher (Wicket Keeper), Cameroon White, Jacques Kallis, Wasim Jaffer, B. Akhil, Virat Kohli, Ashley Noffke, Zaheer Khan, Sunil Joshi and Praveen Kumar.
My opinion: Rahul Dravid and other managers misguided energetic Vijay Mallya in selecting ideal twenty20 team for Royal Challengers. They picked wonderful test team. Vijay Mallya was deceived by these cricket brains. Dravid should learn lessons from Laxman (Laxman sacrificed his iconic status for the benefit of his team). Mallya learned a big cricket lesson in the best possible way.

IPL authorities may have felt happy after seeing superb century by Brendon McCullum but unhappy after seeing worst performance by Bangalore IPL team.

Bollywood badshah Shahrukh khan with cricketer Ishant Sharma.

Shah Rukh Khan is going great guns with his IPL Kolkata Team: Knight Riders
Shah Rukh Khan's team was officially announced in Mumbai.

No doubts and No wonder. Our own Benal Tiger, Saurav Ganguly is leading from the front as Captain.

Shah Rukh Khan has already expressed his willingness to have Saurav as Captain the day he bought the Kolkata team. And, Dada has accepeted it.

Now, it is pretty interesting to see how the Team backed by Shah Rukh Khan would do on ground.

We hear that Vishal-Shekhar, the bollywood music composer with hits to name like "Om Shanti Om" under their belly are composing theme for the Team.

And, one more thing, did you the sponsor logo on the suits they are wearing? Yes, Belmonte. Shah Rukh is brand ambasdor to the company.

Well, now that everything is in place we need to see how well it can earn for Mr King Khan.
