Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson - Speed Painting [Video]

Born: 22 November 1984
Where: New York City, New York, USA
Awards: Won 1 BAFTA, Nominated for 2 Golden Globes
Height: 5' 4"
Johansson was born in New York City. Her father, Karsten Johansson, is a Danish-born architect, and her paternal grandfather, Ejner Johansson, was a screenwriter and director. Her mother, Melanie Sloan, a producer, comes from a Jewish American family from the Bronx. Johansson's parents met in Denmark, where her mother lived with Johansson's maternal grandmother, Dorothy, a former bookkeeper and schoolteacher. Johansson has an older sister, Vanessa, who is also an actress; an older brother, Adrian; a twin brother, Hunter, also an actor; and a half-brother from her father's re-marriage, Christian.
Johansson grew up in a household with "little money". She began her theater training by attending and graduating from Professional Children's School in Manhattan in 2002.
Filmography: Often a young actress will deliver a performance so strong, so mature she is feted as the Next Big Thing. But the description is usually used more in hope than expectation. We all know that many years and many films can pass before she'll live up to her early promise, if indeed she ever does. Early 2004, though, saw the arrival of a young talent who seemed near fully-formed, despite being still in her teens.

From one movie to another - our favorite workaholic was photographed on the set of her new movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, today in Los Angeles. This is actually the very first day of filming of the project. Co-star and producer Drew Barrymore was also photographed on the set and you can view photos of her over at Drew Barrymore Online. I think that Scarlett looks incredibly cute with the sunnies and the ’sunbrella’.

The nominees for the 2007 Scream Awards were recently announced and The Prestige has picked up an awesome four nominations, including one for Miss Johansson herself (Sci-fi Siren)! The film got nominated in several categories including Best Science Fiction Movie, Sci-fi Star and Best Cameo.

Now being called Scream 2007, the awards show is a celebration of the best in Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Comic genres. The two-hour event, will tape on Friday, October 19 at the Greek Theatre and premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 23 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

I am back from my trip to Venice. As you probably heard, Scarlett Johansson did not attend the film festival. Only the directors were present to promote The Nanny Diaries. She did, however, appear on Conan O’Brien and GMA after filming additional scenes for The Other Boleyn Girl in England. I have added a lot related photos and videos for you to enjoy! Thanks to Mycah, Aloxite and everyone else for the help and contributions!

Scarlett also recently filmed a promotional clip for WYOU, Madison’s non-profit community access television station. I’ve also added its caps and the video.

Scarlett Johansson really made an impression on music video director Samuel Bayer during the making of Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around…Comes Around” mini-movie — so much so that the two will team up again later this year.

“Scarlett is one of the sexiest actresses around,” Bayer told MTV News. “And she can just become her characters. Look at what she did during the Corvette scene, which a lot of people won’t catch. She was shooting that on a green screen, and right before we were rolling, she was laughing. We start, and she’s crying. It was just unbelievable. It’s stuff like that which makes you know someone’s a star.”

So it was a no-brainer for Bayer that when Johansson mentioned her next project was hunting for a director, and she’d like to work with him again, to come aboard. “It’s called Brilliance and it’s about diamond thieves, and we start shooting this winter,” Bayer said. “So many things came together in all the right ways. It really was a case of ‘what goes around, comes around.’ In a good way.”

Rising star Scarlett Johansson has worked with Woody Allen on three movies now, but “she’s not my muse,” the veteran director said Sunday.

“Scarlett is a wonderful actress, she reverberates off anyone she plays with, and she has a great future ahead of her,” Allen told a news conference. “But I never think of her as my muse.”

Asked to compare Johansson with longtime film partner Diane Keaton, Allen said: “There’s a very strong chemistry between Diane and myself,” noting that they acted in “eight or nine” films together.

Allen and Johansson acted together in Scoop (2006), and she appears in his 2005 film Match Point.

A drama set in Barcelona starring Johansson was finished “five days ago,” and does not have a title yet, Allen said.
