Actress/singer Jennifer Lopez has discarded the famous performing name of J-Lo in a bid to get rid of her reputation as a diva. The 37-year-old, known for being difficult and bad-tempered, said her alter ego was meant to be enjoyable but "got out of control and really crazy". "That's all gone with the ridiculous stories about me throwing tantrums and insisting on Egyptian sheets. That's all firmly in my past," The Sun quoted her, as saying. In the pic: Lopez is seen at the Billboard Music Awards show in Las Vegas December 8.
The beauty also revealed her plans to undertake more serious film roles and music projects. Seen here arriving for the premiere of "Gigli" at the Mann National Theatre in Westwood on July 27, 2003.
The Hispanic singer, who earned millions from romantic comedies like 'Maid in Manhattan' and 'The Wedding Planner', also talked about how money, as an incentive, made you an "empty shallow person." "If you focus on the money you're not going to get anywhere. If money is your motivation you're going to be such an empty shallow person," she said. A California judge orders the singer-actress’ ex to pay the money for trying to publish a tell-all book about their relationship
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Solner upheld the earlier ruling by a court-ordered arbitrator, a permanent injunction barring Noa from disclosing information about their relationship for personal gain, and ordered him to turn over all materials related to the book.
The 38-year-old singer-actress married Ojani Noa in 1997 when her career had not taken off. The former waiter is now a restaurant and nightclub manager.
The couple divorced 11 months later but still kept a friendly relationship until Lopez fired Noa who managed her Pasadena eatery for six months in 2002.
Noa then filed against her a wrongful-termination lawsuit which was solved out of the court. He received a settlement of $125,000 (Rs 50.7 lakh) that mandated he not disclose information about their relationship.
But Noa revealed in a January 2006 article in the New York Post that he planed a book titled
The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller, which would describe the details during their marriage. He had offered not to publish the book if Lopez paid him 5 million dollars, according to Lopez’s suit.
Lopez married her second husband, dancer Chris Judd, in September 2001 and divorced from him the following July. She married New York-born singer Marc Anthony in June 2004, five months after she broke off her highly publicized engagement to actor Ben Affleck.
