Will hockey leave behind cricket?

India's 7-2 win in Asia Cup hockey against South Korean team which many say was playing at half steam, is still a huge fillip to the country and the game. It is a Chakde moment close on the heels of a popular sentiment for the revival of India's national game, brought about in no mean measure by a Bollywood film which has caught the fancy of an entire generation. The win also comes close at the heels of India's loss in the ODI Natwest series against England in cricket. It thus brings to fore the age old debate: Will India do far better in hockey if the game gets even half the attention and focus that cricket gets in our country?
